On Tuesday 12th May, we hosted Science Day. We invited our parents to come and see some of the experiments that we have done in class.

A team of fire fighters and a fire engine visited our school. The fire fighters demonstrated all their equipment and the children were very excited to see the flashing lights and hear the engine's sirens. It was great fun!
Lots of Esker students designed clothes using recycled materials...then we had a fashion show! Well done to Eric for his wonderful costume and many thanks to our Green Schools Committee for all their hard work through the year!

We used recycled materials to create contemporary sculptures. We learned a variety of different joining methods and used them in our groups to make one big construction.
We wrote letters to children in a 2nd Grade class in Chicago, U.S.A. We are eagerly awaiting their reply!
We saw tulips, blossoms, new buds growing, green leaves and more on our spring walk. We recorded signs of spring as we observed them.
We used liquid watercolours to create these beautiful paintings of koi fish! We made sure to use special watercolour paper for the best result!
We've been experimenting with the Japanese art of Origami at Activity Centres. With origami, we can fold flat pieces of paper so that they create a 3D sculpture. Check out our boats!!
For Esker Loves Books Week, we made a special effort to read even more than we usually do.
