We learned lots about the U.S. during our latest Skype call with 2nd Grade in Narrangansett, Rhode Island. We shared our questions with each other on Twitter so that we could prepare our answers. Here are the questions!
Ours: http://padlet.com/NiamhDG/dkn2t9g3vk8g Theirs: http://padlet.com/mccallig/1q2xmoaogd7o We found the answers very interesting. Our Skype buddies even sang us a Spanish song! We used a trundle wheel to measure which paper aeroplane travelled the furthest distance. We recorded our results on a bar chart. See the Forces page for more!
With the creation of these wonderful comic strips that retell the story of the Apollo 13 mission, our solar system project must come to an end! It is great to see so many children taking an interest at home! Have a look at the Solar System page to read about what we learned during our project!
We learned how to make a maze game for the Hour of Code! And we were not the only ones coding! See the Scratch page for pictures of Barack Obama and the Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, being taught how to code....by kids!!!
See full list on Listly Vote on the thumbs up to vote!
Thanks to everyone who nominated our blog for the Edublog awards. Those who were nominated were compiled into a shortlist of 53 finalists from all over the world by a panel of judges. We are one of those finalists! Well done to all of 2nd Class Red for all of their hard work! Now you need to vote...here's how... We are learning about what school is like in the US with Skype. We have made some Skype buddies from Narragansett in Rhode Island. We asked them questions about school and answered their questions! Here are some pictures that they sent us on Twitter!
We made paper aeroplanes today. They flew so well that one accidentally went out the window!!
We love stations- literacy stations, maths stations...and of course stations during PE! We are practising our tumbles and cartwheels, as well as using the springboard and balancing on the beam!
We are becoming so knowledgeable about the solar system that it seems likely!! Besides, Dr. Joseph Roche says that they might be looking for new trainees for Mars by the time we are 18!!! See the 'Solar System' page for more. Keep an eye on this blog to see what we've been learning about the Apollo 13 mission!
