Our project work inspired these oil pastel landscapes. We talked about perspective- how to make things look near or far away- and about how to use complementary colours to create a contrast between land and sky. See the Paint and Colour page!

We are exchanging short video messages with another class in a mystery location. We are recording clues and must try to guess which country the other class is from. Click on the Skype and Twitter page for more!
We made butter. We put a marble in a plastic bottle and added double cream. Then we shook as hard as we could...
We planted sunflower seeds. It is spring- the correct time of year to sow the seeds. We will look after them carefully by watering them regularly. They should flower in the summer! Thanks Aisling!!!
We wrote secret messages with invisible ink! We used lemon juice to write our messages. When it dries, it is invisible unless we hold it up to the light. As Eternity suggested, maybe we could use invisible ink to write in our diaries!!!
We learned about Morse code. Morse code uses flashes of light or clicks to send a message. Letters are represented by up to four dots and dashes. Aisling brought in a machine to help us understand. When we listened to the clicks, we could tell what letter was being sent! We were even able to 'write' hello using Morse code.
In ancient Egypt, over 5000 years ago, scribes wrote things down using pictures. These pictures were called hieroglyphics. We wrote our names using hieroglyphics!!
