We have been learning about time in Maths. Games like bingo and Stop the Clock during stations are helping us to become more confident reading the time. This is a tricky area so please practise as often as possible at home!
Remember...
- The minute hand points to 12 to show 'o'clock.'
- There are 60 minutes in an hour.
- The minute hand points to 6 to show 'half past.'
- There are 30 minutes in half an hour.
- The minute hand has travelled halfway around the clock. It is 30 minutes PAST the last hour.
- The minute hand points to 3 to show a quarter past.
- There are fifteen minutes in a quarter of an hour.
- The minute hand has travelled a quarter way around the clock. It is fifteen minutes PAST the last hour.
